From October 5th - October 7th 2022, HappyTeams hosted its first ever company retreat. For over 2 years, the HappyTeams crew has been working tirelessly building the best platform it can but most of us have never actually met in person. Years of virtual meetings and strategy calls but we have never been able to share a room together as a team.
That all changed in October of 2022. I want to tell you that we worked from dawn to dusk planning out the perfect product/feature roadmap but that didn’t happen. The 3 days were a chance for our team to do something it has never done before, hang out together in person as a team.
Our home for the 3 day summit was the Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway. Situated on 100 acres of Irish woodlands in County Leitrim, Drumhierny has over 5km of walking trails, a wellness spa, an onsite cafe, access to the River Shannon, and a 5 minute walk to an authentic Irish pub. It was the perfect place for our retreat.
Our days were filled with adventure, pampering, and amazing food prepared by our resident Chef and CEO, Michael Dever. We kayaked the River Shannon, relaxed with a seaweed bath, and toasted the future success of HappyTeams over a few pints at the local pub.
We may not have walked away with a grand strategic roadmap for 2023 but we maximised our time together building relationships. We walked away with stronger relationships and deeper bonds.
